Tickets will be available for purchase starting next Tuesday, April 2.

Bilbao BBK Live drops the names of the artists for the upcoming edition of Bilbao BBK Live 2024, taking place on July 11, 12, and 13 in Kobetamendi. Previously announced headliners, the likes of Arcade Fire, Jungle, Massive Attack, The Prodigy, Underworld, Khruangbin, and Parcels, will be joined by new artists that will round out the line-up for 2024, portraying an intergenerational journey through the sounds and icons that have defined recent times.

Joining the line-up is one of the most special and iconic artists in history: Grace Jones. Born in Jamaica and raised in New York, Grace symbolizes the most extravagant underground, true to the iconic Studio 54 and constantly pivoting between film, fashion, and music, Grace Jones will perform at Bilbao BBK Live monumental dance hits such as Slave to the Rhythm and Corporate Cannibal.

An ethereal voyage in Kobetamendi

The reveal of new voices for the upcoming edition of the festival invites us to explore the soundscape of dream pop and shoegaze led by experts in the matter: on Thursday, legendary French band, AIR will be at Bilbao BBK Live 2024 playing their iconic album Moon Safari, a unique fusion of electronic sounds and sensual, sophisticated, and emotional atmospheres; on Saturday British icons Slowdive, creators of the most enveloping sound assemblies and the most intense dreamscapes, will perform.

THURSDAY JULY 11. MASSIVE ATTACK, THE PRODIGY, AIR introducing Moon Safari, LOS PLANETAS celebrating 30 years of Super 8

Massive Attack, The Prodigy, Folamour (A/V), Cymande, Death from Above 1979, and Sen Senra are some of the names already included in the lineup for the first day of Bilbao BBK Live. The inaugural day will travel from acid sounds to pop melodies, with the announcement of the participation of the sophisticated electronic downtempo of French band AIR. Los Planetas will also perform with a special concert celebrating 30 years since the release of their iconic Super 8, where they will revisit the essential trajectory of their indie rock in the Spanish scene.

The lysergic trance of Orbit will add a touch of nostalgia with their characteristic vocals tweaked by autotune. The fusion of electronic and acoustic will be provided by Mezerg, who became known thanks to his improvised home videos. Irish NewDad won’t miss the gathering, with their foray into alternative rock dance between dark and dreamy.

New nationals join the line-up including the Madrid pop band El Buen Hijo with their single rápida y brutal or the shoegaze rising star also from Madrid Dharmacide. On this first day we will also encounter the band from Murcia Nunatak with their epic folk rock, the extraterrestrial psychedelia of the band from Zarautz Martín de Marte, and the Bilbao collective Nexo Malito, including its founder ALTA and CRRDR, guest of honor from Bogota and master of raves and Latin sounds.

FRIDAY JULY 12. GRACE JONES, UNDERWORLD, KHRUANGBIN, MEUTE, PARCELS, ALBERT PLA Rumbagenarios

The new artists headlining the second day of Bilbao BBK Live are led by the undisputed Grace Jones, who joins previously announced Underworld, Khruangbin, Parcels, Jordan Rakei, and Ezra Collective.  Once again, the day’s performances are characterized by a masterful selection of international and national artists who are connected. From Germany comes MEUTE, an array of musicians and instruments performing live, with their infectious energy in a show that promises to be a huge party. We will also have the multitalented Albert Pla: singer-songwriter, composer, musician, comedian, and author… nothing is too difficult for the Catalonian artist who has performed in La Mesías and will introduce at the festival his show Rumbagenarios. Catalonian Standstill will not miss the opportunity to come to Bilbao. After breaking up in 2015 they are back on stage at Bilbao BBK Live; novel talent the likes of AIKO EL GRUPO, multiplicators of revolutions with their riot and youthful spirit will also come, as well as Karavana, an essential band to follow. The second day of the festival will also give us the performance of Cordoba artist Maria José Llergo, who will make time stand still with her ULTRABELLEZA and Italian singer-songwriter Daniela Pes. Joining the celebration started by Ralphie Choo is iconic celebrity, singer, and performer Samantha Hudson, the DJ folk of Oro Jondo with his gas station music, and the king of mákina Parkineos.

Basque artists are an integral part of the festival’s DNA and this edition features Pamplona band Melenas with their psychedelic garage pop, the energetic EZEZEZ, the Lekeitio group Silitia, and S T R, unique in their scene.

SATURDAY JULY 13. ARCADE FIRE, JUNGLE, SLOWDIVE, FLOATING POINTS, ALVVAYS, ZOE GOTUSSO

On Saturday, joining the previously announced Arcade Fire, Jungle, Alvvays, Floating Points, Noname, and El Columpio Asesino on their farewell tour, are the indispensable Slowdive, with their recent Everything Is Alive; the most promising band in Northern Ireland according to the BBC, CHALK, creators of a DIY mix infused with techno and punk; hailing from Argentina, the boundless passion of Zoe Gotusso and her soundscapes rich in emotions and textures. Icelandic Kiasmos will provide the perfect balance between ambient and electropop. On the Anglo-Saxon side, the duo gone viral from the UK Good Neighbours will contribute their acclaimed single Home (and much more).

At the national level, garage rockers Mujeres will pollinate Kobetamendi with their exaltation of rock and friendship, from Barcelona Boye will bring his hedonistic hymns to the festival, and the Basque Oki Moki will perform their signature pop-punk lo-fi from the locality of Guetaria. The day would not be complete without Bitxeando, the most successful indie evening performance in Bilbao with godmother Ines Hernand at the head joined by founder, DJ Daniless, accompanied by David Van Bylen with his impossible mixes. Thus, layer after layer will enrich this diverse national line-up.

BASOA. THE ELECTRONIC REFUGE IN THE HEART OF THE WOODS

Today we drop the names of the artists performing at the Basoa stage, a solid lineup with the most interesting references in the international club scene. On Thursday we will have one of the most energetic rhythms with the founder of the label Life and Death, Dj Tennis, who will join the acclaimed Irish DJ Cormac and the rhythmical, queer, sensual mixes of Ketiov. Plus, the talented Peruvian Sofía Kourtesis will introduce her moving house in a DJ set format. Local talent Neska, a Basque residing in Barcelona, and creator of multidisciplinary electronic parties flora & fauna, will also perform.

Friday is brimming with innovative and compact talent along the lines of Marcel Dettmann, leader of labels MDR and Bad Manners, and fluid transitions among disc jockey genres with Djrum. The electronic sanctuary will also welcome Ogazón, who will offer tasteful selections of house and techno; stellar Parisian DJ Jennifer Cardini, and Dj Gostoso b2b Senda Fatal, two of the most dynamic personalities in the Madrid club scene.

The festival will close on Saturday with the nearly mythic Nicola Cruz, who brings his evocative Latin-American folk rhythms; the euphoric Bored Lord, straight from the vibrant underground scene in Oakland; the high tempo and heat of Niki Lauda and the Italian disco master class Budino.

When the Basoa stage was created, John Talabot was always in the festival’s mind to close this electronic oasis. After 4 consecutive years of his now iconic ceremonial closings, which have become a religious experience for the pilgrims to the festival, the DJ is back at Basoa for the fifth and last time, with the promise to transform the Kobetamendi forest into one of the most distinguished dance floors in Europe.

LASAI. SWAY SLOWLY WHILE OVERLOOKING BILBAO

All performances on the Lasai stage must not exceed 100 beats per minute, welcoming all those who wish to give themselves a moment to unwind and enjoy the masters of slow tempos and high intensities. On the first day of the festival, the stage will be inundated with cutting-edge sounds by Rinse FM. Friday will welcome the enigmatic Xamana Jones, who will work his magic for the third consecutive time; the creator of Fiesta x Fiesta Baldman; the stimulating Lucient; DJ and producer Toni Bass and the eccentric podcaster and selector Miguel Agnes. On Saturday JASSS will host the most special lookout point in Bilbao.

The seventeenth edition of Bilbao BBK Live introduces a carefully crafted lineup designed to fully enjoy each performance, allowing each participant to enjoy each moment, note, and concert, in a privileged natural setting. This combination makes Bilbao BBK Live an event you cannot miss among the summer festivals, and others are saying it too! Recently, Bilbao BBK Live was the recipient of the ‘Best Communication’, ‘Best Major Festival Principal’, and ‘Best Live Electronic Act’ accolades at the Iberian Festival Awards.

This edition the festival organization has increased its commitment to genuine sustainability rooted in the local territory. Last Tour has been a BCorp company since 2023 and belonging to this global community of companies that are having a positive social impact has accelerated its internal transformation and spurred ongoing improvement of the Festival. This edition will therefore continue emphasizing the importance of creating awareness around accessibility, mobility, energy transition, inclusion, climate change, and the urgency of protecting our natural environment. Sustainability is a strategic axis of Bilbao BBK Live.
