The Azkena Rock Festival unveils new names who will form part of the major encounter with rock and roll and live music that will take place on 20th, 21st and 22nd June 2024 in Mendizabala, Vitoria-Gasteiz. Jane’s Addiction, as a new headliner, and Tarque & La Asociación del Riff, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets and The Black Halos join the big names already announced, such as Queens Of The Stone Age, Sheryl Crow and Arde Bogotá. An early Christmas gift that is also already on sale at azkenarockfestival.com with the tickets at a launch price that will last until 12th December at 10 am.

Mendizabala welcomes Jane’s Addiction for the first time, a band which is as iconic, innovative and influential as they come, and they do so with their entire original line-up. Founded in 1985 by vocalist Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins and bassist Eric Avery, it was one of the first alternative rock groups to gain media attention and achieve commercial success in the United States. They have not stayed together the whole time and some members have varied throughout their history, being replaced by stellar musicians who have maintained the essence of the project whilst taking it to cult band status. They announced recently that they are working on a new album, which will be the first with the original line-up since the legendary Ritual de lo Habitual.

Carlos Tarque is one of the most magnetic rock & roll frontmen in the country and returns to Azkena after taking to the stage with M Clan in 2013. This time he will do it as Tarque & La Asociación del Riff, his collaboration with Carlos Raya, who finally joins the list of guitar heroes who have come through Mendizabala. Just a month ago they released Volume 2, an album with overtones of classic rock from the 70s with some blues, honesty and a rawness that reveals their solid commitment to this project.

Psychedelic Porn Crumpets is one of the emblematic bands from the powerful Australian psychedelic rock scene, a cross between their peers King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard and Tame Impala. They come with fresh material, having released their sixth album 10 days ago, Fronzoli, which is already generating excellent reviews.

Canadians The Black Halos firmly positioned themselves in the punk scene with The Violent Years in 2001. With a 30-year career, their influences include the New York Dolls and The Stooges, but their range extends as far as Michael Monroe, who collaborated on a song with them in 2022.

The festival poster has not only evolved in content but also in appearance with a new image by illustrator Raisa Álava which was unveiled today; it continues the narrative of this new edition of the Azkena Rock Festival, which climaxes on 20th, 21st and 22nd June 2024. An unmissable three-day appointment with rock & roll at its widest, at the most unique and attitude-packed festival around.
