BIME, the world’s leading international music industry conference expects to bring together over 2,000 professionals in Bogota from 8th to 11th May, centred around a full programme, with almost a hundred activities and more than 60 concerts where attendees will get to know the stars of the future.

Bogota is ready to welcome more than 2,000 professionals, artists, students, institutions, brands, and agents from all over the world to the fourteenth edition of BIME, the music industry’s leading conference. Today it completes its programme with participation from nearly 200 experts and artists. A four-day event that will turn the Colombian capital into a catalyst for change and an epicentre of innovation to collectively build the next chapter of the music industry.

On the conference side, BIME Pro will include a wide representation of key players of the sector worldwide. A programme created by and for the whole industry, with an intense calendar of activities that will begin on the 8th of May with participation from Enrique Bunbury (ES) alongside Leila Cobo (CO/US), executive director of Billboard, in an opening discussion that will try to delve into the Spanish artist’s career, and that will continue with more protagonists such as Spain’s Lola Índigo (ES), one of the most outstanding artists of the current music scene, professionals such as Maykol Sánchez (US), director of music for Latin America at Spotify; Daouda Leonard (US), founder and CEO of Createsafe and manager the artist Grimes; Rocío Guerrero (ES), head of Latin music Iberia at Amazon Music; Brigitte Baptiste (CO), rector of the Ean University; or Luis Giraldo (CO), from Bichota Records and father of artist Karol G.

In addition, it will host conversations around major trends in the music industry such as the role of TikTok in the development of artistic careers, the stadium phenomenon, the development and export of Latin talent, the challenges of sustainability in live entertainment and ways to engage audiences, the fascinating history of the cultural and musical movement in the Dominican Republic: dembow, the global impact of Mexican music, the state of Latin music and its unprecedented global reach, the new creative and legislative dimensions offered by Artificial Intelligence, the art and method of making great songs, the creative opportunities of music in video games, and new business models.

BIME’s programme continues into the afternoon and evening in different parts of the city with BIME Live, a programme of concerts and showcases designed to present proposals from the most promising artists worldwide. This will take place at the EAN University itself, home to BIME Pro, and in the Creative District on Calle 85, in venues such as Sánchez Cervecería, La Patrona, Egua, Mad Radio and 440 Music Hall.

Joining the over 30 artists recently announced are another dozen artists with a great representation of local Colombian talent, such as the new fresh sound and Colombian rap proposal by Kei Linch (CO); the new Latin American indie folk proposal from Coco Ramé (CO), the Argentinean artist Lara91K (AR) with her avant-garde hip hop and contemporary production; La Farmakos (CO), fusing her rap essence with cumbia sounds; Bogota’s salsa brava orchestra La Pambelé (CO), Armenia (CO)’s energetic pop-rock show, Colombian rapper Kriska (CO), the songs and rhymes of the street and life from El Kalvo (CO), the exotic sound and movement of Los Dioses del Ritmo (CO); the radioactive cumbia band from Ecuador Papaya Dada (EC); the indie pop rock from the quintet Niña Lobo (UY); and the Uruguayan rapper Eli Almic (UY), among others. A celebration of music that is committed to new artistic talent, and to bringing its programme closer to the professional public who will be attending BIME, and to the city of Bogota, with free access for the general public (limited to capacity).

Within this context, BIME Live will feature a closing showcase by Spanish artist Lola Indigo (ES) on Friday, May 10. The Spanish artist, known for her powerful stage presence and unique musical style, has positioned herself as one of the most prominent female figures in Spanish music. Her massive tour of Spain accumulated more than 300,000 attendees, reaching a sold out 2025 at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium. This event will give attendees the opportunity to enjoy a show in the heart of the city, consolidating the impact and relevance of Lola Indigo in today’s music scene.

BIME Start Up! 

Also revealed are the names of the startups that will form part of BIME Start Up!, BIME’s programme for those looking to accelerate their business. Pro Indie Music, Snafu Song Fund, Son Gain, Gudmerch, Cactus Music, and Giggin, are the most disruptive business proposals which have been selected in the open call to be part of StartUp Village, an exhibition area for investors; and in the StartUp Competition, where they will compete for the MeetLatam Accelerator, and a one-to-one mentoring session with the Google Startups programme which will give away up to 350,000 USD in Google Cloud credits.

In addition, BIME Campus, hand in hand with the SGAE Foundation, will offer a valuable training programme in which attendees will receive masterclasses from industry experts related to collective management and Artificial Intelligence, the internationalisation of artists, music supervision, how to master the art of conversation with the media, key insights into the world of cultural management for the music industry. In addition, students and applicants under the age of 28 will be able to access all BIME Campus content with a student discount.

Networking, speedmeetings and workshops

Likewise, and with the aim of fostering networking and connection between territories and professionals, there will be different speedmeetings, pitching sessions, cocktail parties and receptions organised between the Spanish Embassy in Colombia, Sounds from Spain, Canada, ELPAUER, SGAE Foundation and ProChile; as well as international working groups, and the presence of delegations of professionals from countries such as Canada, Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica, Spain, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela, among others. In addition, BIME continues the path of collaboration started in 2022 with the Spanish Ministry of Culture through Conexiones i, an itinerary of training and support for the internationalisation of music companies and professionals within the framework of BIME’s programme.

Within this framework, there will also be gatherings promoted by different international organisations. Here they will seek out solutions for the future of the music, through workshops, with relevant topics such as cultural and musical challenges regarding equality, a workshop led by MIM; the current state and challenges of the music media with Alianza Faro; new ways of promoting the music scene between the Basque Country and Colombia, promoted by BASQUE. MUSIC; and public- private collaboration in the export and circulation of music in Latin America, with participation from ICEX, ProChile, Ibermúsicas, and PROCOLOMBIA, among others.

There will also be a space for musical co-creation with BIME Sessions, the musical lab which seeks to stimulate artistic collaboration, bringing together artists from different territories for song writing and production sessions; curated by Oso Polita.

International Vinyl Festival

On the 10th and 11th of May, the valuable contribution of vinyl culture will be celebrated at the International Vinyl Festival, an experience that will include talks, workshops, networking spaces, showcases and, of course, a vinyl market where you can find great gems of world music. The International Vinyl Festival – which is supported by CODISCOS, the Colombian independent record label and a reference in Latin America – will take place on Friday the 10th of May at the EAN University, which will be open to the general public with prior registration, and on Saturday the 11th of May at Selina on 74th Street, with an open day for the family and the general public, free of charge.
