Hailing from the Irish town of Mullingar, The Academic is an indie rock band that achieved success in their home country after a string of singles characterised by their unmistakable melodies. Formed when the band members were still teenagers, The Academic became known after opening a concert for the Pixies, which allowed them to accumulate a large regional following. The Academic will visit Barcelona and Madrid on Wednesday 22 May at Razzmatazz 3 and Thursday 23 May at Moby Dick respectively.
