TOMMY GUERRERO makes his live debut in Portugal on April 12, 2025, at Musicbox (Lisbon)
In 2025, musician and skateboarding legend Tommy Guerrero will perform at Musicbox, in Lisbon, on April 12. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, October 18, starting at 9:00 am, on lasttour.org and dice.fm
Tommy Guerrero may be better known in the skateboarding world than in music, but he’s been playing since the late ’70s alongside his brother Tony, with whom he shares a strong influence from punk music and a DIY ethic. As a guitarist and bassist, Guerrero has released dozens of mostly instrumental albums, blending elements of rock, jazz, Latin music, soul, trip-hop, and many other styles, drawing from a wide range of influences: John Coltrane, Bill Withers, Bad Brains, and Gabor Szabo.
Born in San Francisco, Tommy Guerrero joined the skateboarding company Powell Peralta in 1984 and became one of the original members of the legendary “Bones Brigade” team. In his solo music career, he debuted with the album Loose Grooves & Bastard Blues in 1997 and later released acclaimed albums such as A Little Bit of Somethin’ (2000) and Soul Food Taqueria (2003), both on the legendary down-tempo label Mo Wax. He has made experimental post-rock music with the group Jet Black Crayon and explored jazzier sounds as a member of Blktop Project. He also collaborated with Money Mark and Shawn Lee as part of the project Lord Newborn & The Magic Skulls, releasing a self-titled album in 2009.
In the 2010s, he remained highly prolific: in 2011, he released Lifeboats and Follies, which included a guest appearance by Money Mark. In 2012, he recorded his seventh solo album, No Man’s Land, which was initially released in Japan; two years later, the album received worldwide distribution through the label Modulor. In 2014, the album Perpetuum was once again released exclusively in Japan, followed by the globally distributed Perpetual in 2015. Another limited release, The Endless Road in 2016, was followed by Road to Knowhere in 2018. In 2019, Ed Banger released Dub Tunes, an album by Guerrero with remixes by Trevor Jackson. Since retiring from one of the most successful skateboarding careers of all time, Tommy Guerrero has fully dedicated himself to music, creating an instrumental sound in which he glides across the guitar strings with the same lightness and fluidity with which he skated the streets: free, light, effortless. His live performances offer the perfect formula for relaxing and traveling without leaving your seat.
Doors open at 9:00 pm, and the show starts at 10:00 pm.
